Gibellina is a planned city. But how long does it take to establish a planned city? Even today, the artists that animate the Gibellina Photoroad festival try to respond to this appeal. The festival is made of ephemeral works; in order to keep its history in a physical location, the “photography section” of the Permanent Collection of the Orestiadi Foundation. The work of the winners of Call for projects and Call for an open air installation 2021 enter in one of the most important contemporary art collections in Southern Italy. Their building blocks will be added, one after the other, to bolster the memory and strengthen the walls of this city, which continues to hatch and grow every day thanks to art, culture and new vitality.
